How to manage your sports betting bankroll

This strategy is even more crucial in sports that have multiple players or teams competing in a single event, according to Inside Gambler. If you go through a negative downswing, youll have plenty of cash left to continue playing comfortably, and to experience an inevitable positive streak.Dont chase losses. In horse racing, the vast majority of Thoroughbreds, even those considered favourites by tipsters, are statistical underdogs. If you lose, live to fight another day. Sports betting involves variance unpredictable swings in winnings and losses that can be dominated by short-term variables. You cant be a long-term punter if you run out of cash.

By making appropriately small bets on any single game, a bettor diversifies his exposure and thus lessens risk. However, skilled betting gives you the opportunity to make profits over the long run.

Here are some tips for managing your bankroll:

Never risk more than 2 or 3 percent of your bankroll on a single meeting. For punters, the most crucial skill to have in the long-term is the ability to manage one’s bankroll, according to tipping site Inside Gambler.. By placing small bets, the gambler is able to withstand these short-term swings and losses. With diversification, the player is then able to make wagers over the long-term.

A bettor who mismanages his cash is likely to undergo financial hardship, stress, and life difficulties. Dont be a moth attracted to flame.Remember that its a game of variance. Punters can learn from the most important principle in investing in the stock market: diversification. Thats because each runner faces a large field of seven to nearly two dozen competitors. Thus, it is unwise to make huge wagers on a single race.

Sports betting is estimated to be close to a $400 billion industry around the world. No single outcome can cause a dent on his balance, whether positive or negative. Theres no shame in walking away. There are ups and downs

5 Tips to improve your Scuba Diving

Ensure it is comfortable when you do put it on. Panicky breathing will run down your air in a matter of minutes, particularly at depth. It’s all about breath control. Every face is different and you may not feel comfortable in a mask that has been used by many different divers before you. If you are swimming over a slightly higher piece of coral then inflate your lungs and in a couple of seconds you will start to rise. At the end of your dive empty your BC at the surface and with empty lungs your eyes should be level with the surface of the water.

3. Breathe!

Clearly this is important for a lot of reasons. Remember, you don’t generally want to touch anything so keeping your buoyancy controlled is very important. Find a relaxed place in your head where you can just breathe slowly and methodically.

5. I would strongly recommend that every diver has their own mask and snorkel set that they feel comfortable. If you do rent a mask check its fit thoroughly before departing. If you feel yourself still sinking slightly at the bottom bear in mind that kicking with your fins adds a small amount of upthrust to keep you at the right level.

4. So, at the start of a dive add a small amount of air as you descend to slow yourself and a little more as you reach the bottom. Even if you dive infrequently you should aspire to the next level to improve your skills and what you can gain from each dive. Need to get under an overhang? Empty your lungs and feel yourself sink. This is not only frustrating for you, but also for anyone else diving in your group. This does lead to problems under the water in terms of controlling your buoyancy and controlling the angle at which you swim. Holding your breath and changing depth will cause injury, so just keep breathing, your air will still last the same amount of time. Breathing is also the best way to fine tune your buoyancy. I have dived with a BC that doesn’t fasten properly and feeling like you’re hanging on for dear life for 45 minutes is no fun.

2. But without stating the obvious you should breathe in a continuous and controlled manner throughout your dive. The main bit of your kit is your BC (Buoyancy Compensator). Don’t overcompensate your buoyancy

Often when you see inexperienced divers in the water they will yo-yo up and down like crazy. Make sure you know where all the straps, releases, buckles, controls and dump valves are before trying it on. Instructors and Divemasters will often over-estimate the amount of weight needed to make sure you can sink. Here are my top 5 tips to improve your skills and enjoy your diving experiences more.

1. I have been diving for around 10 years and can still find something new and exciting on every dive.

Above all enjoy diving and remember when you see more inexperienced divers in the water that you were once in their position and offer them positive encouragement and friendly advice to improve their underwater experiences.

. You never know you may decide to become a dive professional and earn your living underwater.

Scuba diving is an immensely rewarding sport that enables you to freely interact with a totally alien environment. Familiarise yourself with your kit

Most divers, like me, will rent their equipment from the provider that they will dive with for that day. It is also very safe provided you have the right training and a small amount of experience. Unfortunately the best way to check is at the end of your dive! As a rule of thumb at the start of a dive you should only start to descend when you have a very small amount of air left in your BC. Check you are properly weighted

One of the most common problems with inexperienced divers is having too much weight. Breathing will also ensure that you don’t injure your lungs through over-expansion. When they find themselves ascending they dump air from the BC and when they descend they add more! As wellas being annoying it wastes a lot of energy and air. This is the main reason you hardly ever see experienced divers add more air to their BC partway through a dive. Aspire to the next level

Fantasy Football: Harmless Fun or Unregulated Illegal Gambling?

The same principle applies in stock trading. I am not suggesting you should not play, but don’t bet the farm and don’t be fooled into thinking it is a game of skill.

Like penny stocks, which are very risky but have huge potential for returns, some football playersare considered”flyers” in that they are long shots, not likely to even play. Thiscan beproblematic. To be a skillful fantasy player, you need to understand all the factors that influencehow well a particular player might perform. This makes them inexpensive. Player pricesare setby game operators, who use supply and demand todecidepricing, but indirectly. So unless you are an insider, you likely don’t know the true health or status of any player, regardless of your skill.

As with stock trading, access to information in fantasy football gives you an edge. It does not concernseason-long fantasy football, which usually has a nominal cost, is played among friends, and has fewer legal problems.

So while fantasy football and short-term stock trading are similar, they have some important differences. The fact that the operators can manipulate the price of the players makes fantasy football distinctly different from stock trading, and more susceptible to fraud. Finally, as shown here, arguing that these contests are games of skill is dubious. This article concernsdaily or weekly fantasy football that is most often associated with the large operators FanDuel and DraftKings. Many rules and regulations are in place in the world of stock trading to prevent traders from benefiting unfairly from insider information. They increase sales and profits more than expected, which causes traders to bid up their stock price.. Here are just some of these factors:

What is the player’s psychological state? Did the player have a fight with his girlfriend the night before the game. In fact, FanDuel and DraftKings probably know this, which might explain why they have been in an all-out marketing blitz, reportedly spending $150 million in advertising in just 3 months[4]. In any event, predicting the weather at game time is difficult because you usually have to pick your players several days before the gamesare played.

Stock trading is heavily regulated and yet scandals and fraud occur with regularity. They have a value, but unlike stocks, their value is not determined directly by the market, but by bookies – the operators of the fantasy football websites. (FanDuel Logo)

Game of Skill or Chance?

Now let’s look at the argument that FanDuel and DraftKings run games of skill. Almost 75 million people will play this year and spend almost 5 billion dollars.[3]

Players are either fairly valued, overvalued, or undervalued. But, let’s try to be more subjective. Second, in fantasy football, “price” is not set directly by supply and demand in the market, as is the case with stocks. If a player is in unusually high demand one week, which indicates he isunderpriced, the game operators likely adjust his priceupfor the following week. If nothing else, as a player you should go into it with eyes wide open. Common sense tells you that with the large amount of money at stake, valuable informationwill be leaked. The outcome of all theses nuances is not predictable, much as the weather two weeks from now is not predictable with any accuracy.

What is Fantasy Football?

Fantasy footballis a popular role-playing gamein which participants pretend to ownprofessionalfootballteams. Or your player’s team might get behind early in the game and abandon the run for the pass, which can get you points quicker. Otherwise, it is just luck. Does he have a grudge against the opposing team that would motivate him to play better than usual? Is the player unhappy and trying to get traded? Obviously, no amount of skill enables you to get inside the head of a player, so all of this information is left to chance.

Fantasy football is controversial. If you know a player is hurt before it becomes public knowledge, you have an edge. If you are playing a running back and you know that the opposing team is weak against the run, you might have a favorable matchup. Or an injury could happen during the game on either side that completely nullifies the favorable matchup. First, fantasy football is not regulated. You win money by betting on (buying or drafting) players you thinkare undervaluedwho then prove your judgement correct by doing better than expected (catching more passes, gaining more yards, scoring more touchdowns). The participants select their team rosters in an imaginarydraftin which allNational Football League(NFL) players are available. It is comparable to stock market operators setting the prices of stocks, instead of letting the market directlydeterminetheir value based on supply and demand.

Speaking of weather, what will the weather be like at game time? Some players don’t like playing in foul weather. Think Enron, Martha Stewart, boiler room operations, etc. Personally, I consider fantasy football to be a game of skill if I win. Sample Fantasy Football Team (

Fantasy Football and Stock Trading

In fantasy football, players are like stocks. In snow and rain, teams usually run more than they pass and attempt fewer field goals. Some claim it is online gambling, which is illegal in most states[5], while proponents claim it is a game of skill[2]. According to the New York Times, an employee ofDraftKingsused insider information to make bets that earned him $350,000 onFanDuel.[1]

Is the matchup favorable? This is a an area where you might think that your skill comes into play. Sometime coaches bench players who are healthy, to save them for next game or punish them for violating team rules. Or the other team might have injured players and be forced to play second-string defensive backs, which your player’s team decides to exploit by focusing on the pass instead of the run. Teams must report when NFL players are injured. But players often hide or downplay injuries. In fact, this has already happened. Given that fantasy football is much less regulated, and given the large amounts of money involved, you should expect shenanigans. They know they have a short window of opportunity. Participants earn points based on the performances of the players in real-world football games.

Fantasy football is a big business. In fantasy football, there are nosuchsafeguards. Players must trust that the fantasy football operators are trustworthy and that information about player health, pricing, and team strategy is madeavailable publicly, and not leaked to a select few for financial gain. An instructive way to frame this debate is to compare fantasy sports to a similar pursuit in which you make “bets” about the near future using limited funds: short-term stock trading. You make money by buying stocks in companies that outperform expectations. Sometimes the opposing team might decide to focus on stopping the run that week and instead force the other team to pass. But, these are just generalities. Perhaps they are trying to become entrenched before regulators catch on. But these long shots can pay off in a big way. There are no external systems in place to prevent fraud or insider trading, other than the internal controls implemented by the fantasy football operators themselves. But they are not required to do so. They are not always true. Some coaches don’t like to disclose the health of their players because it could give other teams an advantage. Predicting such events is difficult, and arguably impossible.

Is a player healthy? This information appears to be readily available. But reality is far more complex. This can happen when an unknown player gets a chance when a starting playeris injured

Pick 3 Lotto – How To Win The Lottery More Often

However, with the Pick 3 lotto, you at least have a fighting chance of choosing the correct numbers every once in a while (especially if you are trying to win the “box” way).

There are actually two basic ways of winning the Pick 3 lottery. The odds are astronomically high, and even if you were to play $100 every drawing for the rest of your life, chances are still very high that you will never get your lucky numbers drawn. $1000 and $80 is no where near as sexy as winning 20 million dollars. Actually, some states offer a variety of other ways of winning (ie. A thousand bucks isn’t going to buy you the newest BMW, the mansion, or that dream vacation to Hawaii. It doesn’t matter if they are in the same order as the numbers that were drawn. By knowing the probabilities of winning, you are in a much better position in choosing numbers that will actually be drawn. But will stick to the two most common ways of winning.

If you are waiting to win the MegaMillions or the Powerball lotteries, chances are you are going to have to wait a VERY long time. In this game, all you need to do is have the same numbers drawn. Winning the “box” way. If you are looking to win some lotteries (in your lifetime), your best chance is by playing the Pick 3 lotto.. This happens when the numbers drawn are identical to yours and in the exact order. You may even have a little left over to get yourself a small “treat.” The key point to remember is not how much you can win, but which game gives you the greatest odds of actually winning. For every dollar that you bet, the winning payout is around $75 to $80.

1. But it may pay for a bill or two. Winning the “straight” way. This makes it much easier to win. Because the odds of winning are so much higher, the payout is much lower. Winning the lottery is mostly luck, but there are tips and strategies that you should investigate to increase your odds of winning.

2. Knowing how to win the lottery is somewhat of a science. Although this has the lowest odds of winning (1 in 1000), it always gives you the biggest payout at usually $500 for every $1 bet.

Now, you may be put off by the lower payout rates. This is what most people think about when they hear of the Pick 3 lotto. Statistically, you can play the mega-jackpot lotteries every drawing for the rest of your life and NEVER come close to winning. if two of the three numbers are drawn in the same order). But there’s a give and take. In fact, the odds of winning via “box” is around 1 in 167. Not only that, but there are also “lottery systems” created by mathematicians who have analyzed the historical data of winning numbers that can give you an even further advantage. Knowing how to win the lottery is knowing how to play games that give you a realistic chance of getting at least some money back for your efforts

Rapper Heavy D dies at age 44

He was 44.

Heavy D’s last Twitter message, posted late Monday, was: “BE INSPIRED!”

He rapped on Michael Jackson’s 1991 hit “Jam,” which he performed at last month’s Michael Jackson tribute show in Cardiff, Wales.

Heavy D also pursued an acting career, which included mostly roles on TV shows and movies.

“SMOKIN JOE FRAZIER..RIP.. He also composed and performed the theme songs several television shows, including “In Living Color,” “MADtv” and “The Tracy Morgan Show.”

Heavy D’s rapping was featured on Janet Jackson’s 1990 hit “Alright.”

Playing The Odds In Life

You expect a pot of $250, which you multiply by the probability of winning (.2, also expressed as 20% or 1-in-5), to arrive at $50. If, for whatever reason, the odds of him being a star are low enough, and he could be content inheriting his father’s business, choosing the latter would be the right decision. It seems likely that many lives have been diminished by chasing after low-probability dreams when high-probability alternatives with a decent reward were there for the choosing.

You can keep the basic idea in mind as you make decisions, and let your intuition operate according to its guiding principle. How can you use this then?

Naturally, these various factors, from how much you enjoy the process, to how probable success is, are individual. However, this only eliminates some choices, leaving us with a sub-set of acceptable ones. This premise is sound, but our knowledge just isn’t up to task of identifying the true odds or the true value of things when it comes to an individual life and the decisions in it. Now to apply this to life decisions.

The “numbers” in such “life calculations” as these are guesses, and not even very educated ones, so probabilitism isn’t ready to be a systematic tool for decision making. For example, when a man isn’t sure whether to start a business or keep his job, his intuition may at some point urge him to go for the business, because it has a higher probability of rewarding him according to what he values. Essentially, this is the idea of investment odds operating at an intuitive or unconscious level.

In the last round of betting, you have three kings. Probabilitism makes it a more conscious and hopefully more effective process.

Author’s Bio:

Copyright Steve Gillman. We all do this intuitively already. You might see that the highest possible level of life-satisfaction is of primary importance. This is what we already do intuitively. You estimate that you have a 1-in-5 probability of winning if you stay to the end. With these many possible options, we have just the usual guides to decision and action, which include feelings, advice from others, and our general intuition about which choices are better.

Actually, you have to go beyond the odds of winning the hand, which are merely “event-odds.” The odds of a specific event occurring (your hand winning) aren’t enough information. To be a lawyer, you would have to go through years of schooling that you don’t enjoy, and work hard to pay for it, but you enjoy the work of writing, and can start with very little money.

The idea, then, is to play the odds, but not just the odds of success. Your investment is also lower. Many people, for example, face a decision like whether to go get a job or to start a business. You also need to take into account the “bet” or investment (time, stress, reputation, money, work) and the amount of the reward or “pot” (profits, pleasure, ability to help others, peace of mind, satisfaction,). Money will help with that, but it is a lesser goal, and only important to the extent to which it helps promote the primary goal.

Using Probabilitism

Probabilitism? I just invented the word to describe an ideology of living life according to the odds, or more specifically, making decisions according to them. Should you stay?

Throw Away The Numbers

From that intuitive part of the process, probabilitism extracts the general idea of making choices based on the probabilities of them giving us the most of what we value. The reward or “pot” in this case, is potentially much higher in the case of being a novelist. For deep thoughts, inventions, new product ideas, business ideas, story ideas, political and economic theories, and a free course on How To Have New Ideas, visit :

Let’s consider this from another perspective, that of a man who would be far happier succeeding as a movie star than in business. But some choose to go for the business route anyhow, because even if it requires failing several times, the potential “jackpot” is far larger, both in terms of money and personal satisfaction and freedom. This amount divided by your expected $40 bet equals 1.25. You also need to take into account the amount you’ll win and the amount you’ll bet. In the rest of life there are many goals and values, so you have to recognize the most important one in this case. Here is the exact formula: [(Expected size of pot)(Probability of winning)] / (Your total bet from this point on).

This isn’t enough information, however, because you haven’t taken into account your investment odds. No one can understand better than you what you value and how you value it, or even how capable you are in a given area. You must be the one to decide what “numbers” to plug into a formula like this.

The most common explicit guide to decision making is morality. Researching the two professions you discover that the average novelist makes just $3,000 per year, while as a lawyer you are virtually guaranteed a decent living. To make this an explicit ideology for making decisions in life, we need to understand the idea of “investment odds,” a term used by poker players.

Your Investment Odds

Is it better for you to be a lawyer or a novelist? Can you make this decision rationally? In poker there is one clear goal – making money. Your investment odds are above 1 (above 100% return according to the odds), meaning this is a good bet, the kind you’ll win with over time. The odds of being a successful writer are far lower, and you think you could be satisfied with either career, so you figure the probability of being happy as a lawyer is slightly better.. The probability of success in the restaurant business may be 15% in general, for example, but you may be so committed and prepared that you have a 85% probability of succeeding. The chance of success is lower, but if you do succeed, you’ll have much more satisfaction n your life. If you bet with bad investment odds (below 1), you’ll eventually lose money. In terms of making money next year, the odds are much better with the job of course, and people know that. Life, after all, is all about making decisions, and we need some guide for making better ones.

Now you look at each possible choice. The bet is $40 to you

9-year-old accidentally kills range instructor with Uzi

Asked about the culpability of the girl’s parents, he said: “We have considered the parents, but if anyone was culpable it would be the instructor for putting a deadly weapon in her hands.”

“This tragedy illustrates how you never know what could happen, and we really do need to use common sense when thinking about when a child can have access to a weapon like that,” said Michael McLively of the California-based Law Center to Prevent Gun Violence.

In the Massachusetts incident, former Pelham Police Chief Edward Fleury was found not guilty in 2011 of involuntary manslaughter in the 2008 death of 8-year-old Christopher Bizilj, who was firing the micro Uzi when he accidentally shot himself in the head at a gun show Fleury helped organize. The range offers bachelorette parties, birthdays and weddings events. She fires one round and dirt flies above the target. “He shouldn’t have been to the left side of the gun… Parts of that tape were shown to the jury, which also heard emotional testimony from the father.

Fleury also was acquitted of three counts of furnishing a machine gun to a minor. But Sam Scarmardo, who operates Bullets and Burgers, told CNN affiliate KLAS on Tuesday they “really don’t know what happened.”

“Our guys are trained to basically hover over people when they’re shooting,” Scarmardo said.

The Mohave County Sheriff’s Office said the girl was with her parents. I put my hand behind his head to try to pick him up and there was a large portion of his cranium missing.

“It’s an awful shame,” he said. “But you also have gun enthusiasts running businesses where they place firearms in the hands of the uninformed, whether they’re 9-year-old kids who are not capable or adults.

It’s not like in the movies where somebody shoots 30 rounds nonstop, he said. A 9-year-old girl is surely traumatized. She would not say how many times Vacca was shot. Vacca shows the child how to hold the gun and then helps her establish her grip and her stance. But that child should not have been shooting anything other than a single-shot firearm.”

“Teaching people machine gun 101, even with adults, even with people going through military training, the first few times they shoot machine guns you don’t have them shoot a full freaking clip,” he said.

He was an active member of the California National Guard since May 1995, National Guard spokesman Brandon Honig said.

“To put an Uzi in the hands of a 9-year-old …

Chief Deputy Mohave County Attorney Jace Zack told CNN on Wednesday that prosecutors didn’t foresee criminal charges.

“It’s always the supervision,” said Greg Danas, president of Massachusetts-based G&G Firearms. Danas, whose daughters are 11 and 13, said his girls learned to shoot when they were 4 years old, with a single-shot, .22-caliber pistol.

Fuentes, who was a firearms instructor while he was with the FBI, said students are taught to fire in three-round bursts.

The range says on its Facebook page: “We separate ourselves from all other Las Vegas ranges with our unique ‘Desert Storm’ atmosphere and military style bunkers.”

Child dies at gun show

Greg Block, who runs California-based Self-Defense Firearms Training, said not only was the Uzi the wrong gun to use — “That’s not a kid’s gun” — but that instructors should stand to the rear and to the right of the shooter. “If they’re shooting right-handed, we have our right-hand behind them ready to push the weapon out of the way. The video ends before the fatal head shot. The three reside in New Jersey.

Vacca was married and well-liked, KLAS said. As she pulled the trigger, the gun jumped out of her left hand toward Vacca, who was standing beside her. “He did pretty much everything wrong, and I don’t like saying that because it cost the man his life.”

Video shows fatal shooting

In Arizona, cell phone video released by authorities Tuesday shows the moments before the fatal shots were fired, CNN affiliate KLAS reported.

In the video, Vacca and the girl are at an outdoor range. The wind blows a target in the distance.

The wrong gun?

Gun experts contacted by CNN on Wednesday said young children should be taught to shoot with single-shot firearms rather than submachine guns. “You’re going to lose control.”

Some Uzi submachine guns can be modified to control the powerful recoil. The boy died instantly.

The deadly incident occurred Monday morning at a gun range in Arizona that caters to Las Vegas tourists, many of whom drive an hour from the gambling center to fire high-powered weapons.

Steven Howard, a Michigan-based gun expert who runs American Firearms & Munitions Consulting, said it was difficult to comment based on the limited information available about the Arizona shooting, but added that the clip on the submachine gun should not hold more than three rounds during instruction.

“It can be done under the right circumstances,” Howard said. “And I tried to talk to him and he didn’t respond. It all stems from gun enthusiasts running businesses that require a level of professionalism and education. Experts said an Uzi can fire five rounds one third of a second. The unexpected with firearms is something that’s only learned through years of being a trainer, not a gun enthusiast.”

Representatives of the gun range declined CNN requests for comment on the incident. In releasing the video, authorities did not identify who made it.

“I ran over to him. His eyes were open and I saw no reason for him to be on the ground,” Bizilj told members of the Hampden County jury. “The thing begins to fire and it begins to jump and buck all over the place. And plenty of people, including many gun enthusiasts, are asking: Why give a child a submachine gun to shoot?

No charges to be filed

Authorities said the death was being handled as an industrial accident, with state occupational safety and health officials investigating. And I put my hand against the back of his head.”

Story highlightsExperts question whether girl should have been handling a submachine gunCharles Vacca died Monday night after he was accidentally shot in the headPolice said he was showing a 9-year-old girl how to shoot an UziVacca was a military veteran, CNN affiliate reports

A shooting instructor is dead, the victim of a gun-range accident.

Charles Vacca was accidentally shot in the head as he instructed the 9-year-old girl how to fire an Uzi, an Israeli-made 9mm submachine gun. Your first human instinct is for your hands to clamp down, and you clamp down on the trigger and if the thing has a 32-round magazine … is extremely reckless, ” CNN law enforcement analyst Tom Fuentes said. it starts spraying all over and people get killed.”

An autopsy on Vacca was completed but the cause and manner of death were pending, according to Colleen Pitre, a representative of the medical examiner’s officer. It is one of at least a dozen gun ranges in the Las Vegas area catering to tourists from around the world.

Howard said some submachine guns can be used to train children.

Christopher’s father, Charles Bizilj, was present at the time of the shooting and videotaped the entire incident. And if they’re left-handed, the same thing.”

Danas questioned why the instructor in Arizona was standing immediately to the left of the Uzi, which would have recoiled in that direction.

She fires several rounds in rapid succession and the gun kicks to the left as she loses control.

Vacca had his right hand on the girl’s back and his left hand under her right arm when he was shot.

They also said that safe learning is connected to the ability and experience of the instructor.

“He was literally in the line of fire,” Block said of the instructor. . Vacca adjusts the Uzi, places his right hand on her back and his left under her right arm.

The website of Bullets and Burgers, the shooting range where the accident happened, says children between the ages of 8 and 17 can shoot a weapon if accompanied by a parent or guardian. The federal Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives also was notified. “There are some machine guns that I could have trained my 8-year-old on.”

Bullets and Burgers is part of a tourism niche offering packages costing up to $1,000 to shoot different high-powered weapons
